10 Things To Do In Barcelona

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-travel-fashion-blogger-barcelona-spain-costa-brava-pals-beach-catalonia-3Ohh my heart! THIS. TRIP. My two best friends, so much laughter, the perfect setting…can we do it all over again?! See above? That’s Elissa, my bestie since age 15…we go waaaay back. She’s a flight attendant and used her magical powers to bring me and our other bestie (see below) Ben, to Barcelona, Spain for a week of pure bliss. We called this trip our “10-year-friendiversary” (…even though it’s been over 10 years now…any excuse to take a bff trip to Europe, right?). Ps. If you’re curious if we watched ‘Vicki, Cristina, Barcelona’ in preparation for this vacay, that answer is a definite yes. (I also watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants prior to Greece…no judgement, okay? 😉 ).

Days spent at the beach, nights dancing until the sun comes up, jazz concerts at random Airbnb apartments, sight seeing, tapas eating, cava drinking…excited to share a list of 10 must-do activities in Barcelona!

Scandinavian Cruise: Our Travel Itinerary

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-regal-princess-scandinavia-cruise-may-june-itinerary-what-to-wear-pack-ports-copenhagen-denmark-nyhavn-bright-historical-canal-frontY-A-Y! I’m finally spilling the itinerary details from our trip through Scandinavia with Princess Cruises! Thirteen days of exploring, sightseeing, eating and drinking everything in sight (obviously! 😉 ), being immersed in new cultures and of course, a whole lot of rest and relaxation time. (…Pretty sure you could find me bundled up on our balcony sipping coffee or wine at all hours of the day while at sea, ha! It was so magical!). Our two weeks abroad was unbelievably incredible and a trip that I will never forget…I truly can’t recommend this getaway enough!

On the final day of our trip, I asked my Instagram followers what questions they had regarding this trip – overwhelmingly, the most requested was to share our travel itinerary and of course, what to pack! 😉 Thus, today I’m excited to share a sneak peek of each stop along our trip, as well as my outfit details from each city. I’ll be posting in-depth travel posts for each of our ports through Scandinavia over the next few weeks, but wanted to be sure and share the overarching details first! So, let’s get to it…

Our Honeymoon To Greece

Aaaand months later (we visited in late September/early October), I am finally sharing the ins and outs of our honeymoon to Athens and Santorini, Greece! Not going to lie, editing these images brought back all the “feels” and I definitely called Blake over to my office area more than once to look at photos and reminisce with me. I still stand by that it was my favorite vacation ever…for one, Santorini was such a relaxing and romantic place – and Athens was so rich with incredible history that I was pretty much in awe for three days straight…and two, given that Blake and I are both workaholics, it was seriously SO incredible to disconnect and just be present and explore with each other for 12 days straight. We make a great team and he’s my very favorite travel partner! (…Our shared love for drinking coffee and beer in new places = a match made in heaven, ha!). From the scenery to the Greek food (omg heaven!), to spending days on end with my darling, it was pure magic and a trip I’ll forever fondly remember.

As folks are planning their spring/summer getaways, I’ve had a ton of emails and messages from LL readers asking to share where we stayed, what activities we did, and any tips and insight regarding this trip, sooo here we go! Sharing a photo diary first, then will spill the details at the end of this post (…the pros and cons!). I hope y’all enjoy!!

BTS Onboard Our Mediterranean Cruise

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-princess-cruise-cabin-balcony-mediterranean-coast-breakfast-in-bedHello friends! Today I’m featuring the final blog post from our Mediterranean getaway with Princess Cruises! As I’ve mentioned before, piecing these posts together always gets me super mushy and brings about the “happy sads” because I get to relive our blissful trip as I edit each photo, but also get to face the reality that I am no longer on the boat…ha! I think that’s just how looking back at vacations goes…! However, this post is a pretty fun one because when Blake and I were on the ship, we were living it up and seriously THE happiest pair. Before the cruise, our last vacation together was to South Padre Island…and lemme tell ya, Texas beaches don’t really cut it like the Mediterranean Coast does, ha! (Hey, Galveston will always have a special place in my heart…but not quite like Italy now does..!). I think our facial expressions in most of these photos say it all. 🙂 Eight days, three countries and some unforgettable exploring, dining (y’all, the lattes and croissants on the ship were tuhh-die!) and some quality R&R time = the absolute best trip ever.

Today I’m featuring a little photo diary from aboard the ship, so here it goes!

Barcelona & Sitges, Spain

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-mediterranean-princess-cruise-barcelona-le-sitges-spain-6Hello there, gals! Long time coming, buuut I am so excited to finally share a little photo diary from our stop in Sitges & Barcelona, Spain during our Mediterranean getaway in June! For those new to LL, Blake and I had the absolute pleasure (…more like vacation miracle of a lifetime…it was magical!) of going on a Princess Cruise through the Mediterranean – starting in Spain then venturing to France and Italy (if you haven’t seen my wrap-up posts for those stops, you muuuust! I swoon and simultaneously get depressed every time I go back and read through them…ha! Depressed because it’s over, obviously..! 😉 ).

Today I’m sharing a little glimpse at our time in Barcelona (towards the end of this post) and the little seaside town southwest of Barcelona called Sitges, where we stayed the night before boarding the ship. We flew from Austin to Barcelona and were able to explore for two days (one night) before hopping on the boat to officially start our cruise. What a treat it was to have a couple of days to see these beautiful places – we were in heaven!

Happy weekend, ladies! I am SO EXCITED to finally share the Italy portion of our Princess Cruise through the Mediterranean coast! These pictures never fail to make me swoon (…and also never fail to make me thoroughly depressed because I miss this trip so much, ha!). We spent our first day in Italy visiting Portofino (which as you can see is the definition of magical) and the second day we ventured to Cinque Terre…and did not quite encounter the stunning cliffside views I had imagined because we got caught in a caa-razy torrential downpour that ended up being a TON of fun with an incredible group of people…but more on that further into this post! 😉

Ps. If you’re on the hunt for a vacation that exceeds all of your wildest Pinterest level expectations, you muuuust go to Italy! It truly was heaven on earth!

Travel Diary: Aix-en-Provence, France

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetHappy weekend, ladies! Oohh I am SO excited to finally share this travel diary post with you! One of my absolute favorite stops we made on our Princess Cruise through the Mediterranean Coast was to southern France and the city of Aix-en-Provence, in particular. As y’all know, I’m a big fan of french culture (…and I even got to brush up on my french speaking here!) so visiting this precious, beautiful city made my heart very happy! Not to mention, getting to explore this city with Blake by my side…it was romantic and so much fun. Between strolling through cobblestone streets holding hands (hey, y’all know me…I’m a total sucker for those rom-com-real-life-moments) and eating and drinking our way through the city (the macaroons were out of this world!), we had a magical day in Aix-en-Provence! Read on to hear more about this lovely city and see more photos from our time there…

Travel Diary: Cartagena, Spain

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-fashion-blogger-austin-texas-cartagena-spain-princess-cruises-mediterranean-madewell-off-shoulder-top-17Hello sweet friends! Once again, please forgive my delay in posting on my blog this week – I just got back from my bachelorette trip last night (we went to Costa Rica, it was magical!!), so after 10 loads of laundry and numerous espresso shots today (ah!) I am so happy to sit down and share this much anticipated post with y’all! Though we stopped at quite a few places on our Princess Cruise through the Mediterranean coast (so crazy that I just hopped off the ship roughly a week ago!), I thought I’d start with Cartagena, Spain – the cutest little coastal town that had such an old, vintage charm about it. (Oh, and very good beer, too! 😉 )…
