Hello! I know I know, it’s been quite a few days since my last post…and that’s because I was at Disney World celebrating a bachelorette party for one of my besties! If there was an outfit that I’ve felt truly embodied “Austin” style in a nutshell, it’s this look. It’s casual yet trendy, which I feel really hits the nail on the head when it comes to Austin fashion. We like to keep things wearable all the time. That’s one of the many things I love about this city…the fact that this outfit could literally go anywhere – brunch, dinner, shopping, a live music set…you name it, this look just works. So, where is this ridiculously adorable split-back top from? Topshop! Nordstrom is crushin’ it these days, and I am seriously l o v i n g that entire Topshop department they have online and at their stores.
As I dip into the latter half of my mid-twenties (okay okay, so I’m only 25), I’ve come to notice quite a few things that make me instantly realize I’m getting older. Well not exactly that I’m “getting old” per se, but that time has certainly flown by and I wish I could slow it down for j u s t a s e c o n d…Here a few things that I’ve been jotting down in my notebook recently – 5 signs I’m definitely not in my early 20’s anymore/that time is just zooming by me:
Okay soo…I am d y i n g over this dress! WHAT a stunner! The print is fabulous and the cut is so flattering and comfy – sometimes it’s fun to show off a little leg! Happy weekend, ladies! Anyone else feel like this was the longest workweek ever? Thankfully, we made it to Saturday! I am excited to have brunch with a friend at a new restaurant called Fork & Taco this morning, then later tonight am looking forward to swooning over Sam Smith love songs as I hit up his Austin concert with Veronica! If you follow me on Snapchat (my username is livvylandblog), you’ll have noticed I am with one of my best girlfriends a lot lately – that’s Veronica! We have been friends since our college days at UT and lived together for two years after graduating school, and she’s just a doll and always up for Austin adventures with me.
THIS. DRESS. IS. INCREDIBLE. …I don’t often do the whole totally fitted, body-con dress thing, but if there was ever a time to do it, it’s definitely with this dress! And guess what? It’s only $52! If you’re headed to back to college for the fall semester, or you haven’t quite filled that “little white dress” void in your closet, this may be the one for you. If you’re not into white but you like how this looks/fits, it also comes in a rainbow of other colors – fear not! A few weeks back, one of my best galpals was in town and we enjoyed a day on South Congress Avenue together. Fear not! We departed for our adventure in the morning, shortly before the sun about killed us all, ha! She (her name is Amanda) was visiting from Chicago and was helping her boyfriend pack his apartment into a Uhaul and drive up to Chicago so they can start their next chapter together! At the time, he was selling this bike…thus, we took the opportunity to soak in a little bike riding around SoCo before we had to say our goodbyes! The first stop was Toms Coffeehouse (of course..!) and then American Apparel where I scooped up this pair of high waist shorts I’d been eyeing for months! Clearly, somewhere in the mix we stopped in front of this cute little complex in Travis Heights neighborhood to snap a few pictures for LL. I must add, it’s been a looong time since I hopped on a bike and I must say…I may have fallen two or three times before getting the hang of it again..ahh, that feeling of childhood – instant nostalgia!
If you follow my Instagram account (@livvylandblog), you’d know I recently got back from a weekend getaway to Chicago to visit two of my very best friends from high school and into college (aka these goofy gals above!). Talk about a weekend of pure BLISS! Not even kidding when I tell you I cried at the airport as I left this duo, ha! Elissa is in the pink top, Kayla is in the backpack…these ladies = my heart. So much gf love it’s ridiculous. Both gals were theater majors at UT and have since spread their wings to NYC (Elissa lives there) and Chicago (where Kayla currently resides). Thus, as sad as I am that I don’t get to see them everyday in Austin, it is such a treat when we can meet up and even more fun to explore different cities together!
