New Year, Work Mode

I don’t know about you…but I’m feelin’ 2022. Okay okay, that was the ultimate cheese but I just couldn’t resist. While the last two years were a literal blur, I am really hoping to keep my head above water in 2022. My goal is to remain hopeful and optimistic, because even though oftentimes I feel like the world is caving in, it’s really about perspective and knowing that I am in control of how I feel. So! Onwards into the new year giving myself grace, not making a single resolution, but feeling motivated to tackle a new set of tangible goals. And you know what really amps me up stepping into 2022? A blazer. I mean, what can’t you do in a power blazer?

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about putting together an outfit when you know you’ll be nursing your baby, it’s this: BUTTONS! They’re my secret weapon when it comes to shopping for nursing-friendly tops and dresses that make you feel GOOD. (…Because as my fellow mamas know, wearing workout gear on repeat can often be the norm…even when there’s no workout on the agenda!). Grab your favorite pair of high rise denim, some boyfriend shorts (comfort is key!) or even your maternity jeans – whatever bottoms you feel comfortable wearing, and pair with any of these cute tops. Feelin’ Peachy

Happy Friday, friends! We’re experiencing a torrential downpour in Austin right now and thus, sweatpants and movie watching it is. I was worried Watson would go stir crazy and in turn, cause me to go crazy haha, but alas, he has been THE biggest cuddle-muffin and it’s this version of Watson that makes me say “ahh, so that’s why we got a dog!” Those other times when he is eating our furniture or eating my hands always call our decision into question haha ah! 😉 As I am in full-on cozy mode – I am actually wearing this exact sweatshirt…which goes to show you just how wonderful (and versatile!) it can be. From pajamas to a presentable (…dare I say adorable?) and veeeery comfortable outfit! (Note: my shoes are #1 for comfort…nothin’ like good ‘ol Birkenstocks!) …This full look screams “wear me three days in a row!” and lemme tell ya, this weekend I’ll be putting it to good use. Ps. Don’t act like I’m the only one who wears the same outfit for days on end… 😉 ). Repeat offender and proud of it!

Happy Monday, gals! How was your weekend? Blake and I ordered takeout and watched Heavyweights (remember that awesome Ben Stiller film from the 90s?) – Blake hadn’t ever seen it! I was like, “where was your childhood?!” 😉 It was a classic in the Watson household growing up. Aside from that, we kept busy doing some spring cleaning and spending time with family…it was a nice, relaxing few days!

Switching gears to this look – who else is loving the knot front tee trend? It’s such an adorable update on a classic t-shirt! …And y’all know me, I can’t say no to a cute tee & jeans outfit! 😉

Hey gals, how was your holiday weekend? Though I am reluctantly getting back into the ‘ol workweek groove, I’m feeling refreshed and well rested after the long weekend! Blake and I spent most of it of getting in some quality exercise by swimming, running and staying outdoors the majority of the weekend…and it was exactly what I needed! Felt so nice to step away from my laptop and soak in some r&r with nature! Hope y’all had a fabulous 4th of July, too!

Travel Diary: Cartagena, Spain

Hello sweet friends! Once again, please forgive my delay in posting on my blog this week – I just got back from my bachelorette trip last night (we went to Costa Rica, it was magical!!), so after 10 loads of laundry and numerous espresso shots today (ah!) I am so happy to sit down and share this much anticipated post with y’all! Though we stopped at quite a few places on our Princess Cruise through the Mediterranean coast (so crazy that I just hopped off the ship roughly a week ago!), I thought I’d start with Cartagena, Spain – the cutest little coastal town that had such an old, vintage charm about it. (Oh, and very good beer, too! 😉 )…

Hello there & happy Monday! Okay, first things first – these jeans are UNDER $95! Happy weekend, ladies! It’s been a while since my last Instagram roundup post, so I figured there’s no better time than the weekend to relax & shop through some outfits you may have missed over on my Insta-feed! I never knew I was such a shoe person until I went back and picked out some of my favorite photos…and clearly, I have a thing for shoes! 😉 …and cozy cardigans, and easy-to-layer tees…as I always say, comfort is key when it comes to my style.

Any fun weekend plans on your end? I am off to grab coffee and snap some blog photos with my pops in a few hours (true story: blog life = never stops!) – I am getting used to our Saturday morning routine together, I’ll be sad when he heads back to New Mexico for work in two weeks! My dad is a camera operator in the film industry (in a nutshell, he films movies/tv series) and he just got a new gig that will last until June.. Thus, trying to soak in this time together before he leaves…perhaps Blake and I will just have to plan a trip to NM in the next few months! 😉 (No problem there, Santa Fe is one of my favorite cities!).
